Klein ISD Career & Technical Education
Advisory Council
The Klein community’s greatest asset is the people, especially the young people that will make up our future workforce. Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with the academic, technical, and personal skills necessary to be college, career, and life ready.
Klein ISD currently offers over 58 programs of study, each with a coherent sequence of rigorous, relevant and engaging coursework to prepare students for numerous high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand careers. One-third of these are Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) focused. Content of these programs of study includes robotics, computer science, engineering, IT/network systems, healthcare, and investigative sciences. Other CTE programs of study include agriculture science, business/marketing/finance, architecture, digital design, education, hospitality, cosmetology, law enforcement, manufacturing, and transportation.
The use of industry-standard technology and equipment makes academic content accessible to students by providing opportunities for project- and work-based learning. In addition, students develop key skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and professionalism.
CTE brings together leaders across our region’s key industries, educational institutions, and community organizations to collaborate for the mutual benefit of our future workforce. Your participation on the Klein ISD Career and Technical Education Advisory Council provides the means for our programs to remain relevant and ensure graduates are capable of successfully transitioning into the world of work or postsecondary education.
